Philippe Monteiro is one of the major singer/songwriters of the new generation of musicians from the Cape Verde diaspora, among other musicians such as Grace Evora, Gil Semedo, or Beto Dias. Philippe was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal from capeverdian parents.
